    General Information About

     The Percentage Clock-Calendar

    Description of the Percentage Clock-Calendar

The Percentage Clock-Calendar keeps track of time, in terms of seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years.  This includes date and time which are displayed in military and conventional formats.  The Clock-Calendar also presents time in unusual ways, involving the percent of the day, month, and year that is gone and remaining.  It provides over 20 readouts that change with time, and are displayed in red numbers and words. However, its lowest section consists of a one-month calendar that displays the days in black.  The current date is labeled with red words Today is

    Simple Instructions for the Clock-Calendar

The date and time displayed by the Percentage Clock-Calendar is the time that you opened this website, unless you updated the time.  To update the time left click on the button labeled Click to Update Time.  This button is located near the top center of the Calendar-Clock, (just below a green strip with the words All About Today, and just above a yellow strip with the time).

How Does It Work? The Internal Functioning

    Of The Percentage Clock-Calendar

The percentage Clock-Calendar accesses the time and date on the computer’s clock that opens this website.  This is necessary because this website is available worldwide, and the time and even the date are never the same throughout the world. After the Clock-Calendar accesses the data from the computer’s clock, it carries out over 50 calculations in a fraction of a second, which is used to display all of the readouts, including all the days of the month.

What is the Purpose of the Percentage Clock-Calendar

The Percentage Clock-Calendar was created for demonstration purposes.  (If you want practical calendars, diaries, and information on time management see the links below.)  However, some of the features of the percentage Clock-Calendar can have practical applications.  Displaying time in percentage format can be useful for electronic project sheets and schedules.  For example, when 30% of the days have been consumed, the project should be 30% completed, if everything is going according to schedule.

    Useful Information and Downloading

    The Practical Calendars and Diaries

    General Description and Basic Instructions

This website provides over three dozen files for download, consisting of various types of electronic calendars and diaries.  All the downloads, except for the first two, are Excel and OpenOffice templates, requiring Microsoft Windows.  These templates essentially generate calendars and diaries, every time you left click on them, and they are not consumed in the process.  Thus, they can be used to create a limitless number of calendars and diaries.

Basic Instructions for the Calendars and Diaries

The calendars and diaries provided by this website are all free, very easy to use, and they function in a similar way, and most of them contain instructions that are more or less similar to the following:

All the Excel and OpenOffice calendars and diaries are in reusable template formats, and the first step is to left click on the template’s icon.  Then a diary or calendar will be generated, and it will open.

A start date of your choice must be entered, in an input box, on the first page of each calendar or diary, in the months/day/year format, such as 1/1/2010.  Then, the software automatically calculates all the dates, in the calendar or diary.  This can range from one month to three years.

When the above is completed, you must save the calendar or diary with a filename.  (To save click on the save button on the menu of Excel or OpenOffice, or hold down the Ctrl key while pressing the S key.)  Ideally the file name should involve the start date, such as Jan2010, or Jan10Diary, 1-10Calendar, 1-1-2010Cal, etc.  (Note you cannot use slashes, such as / in filenames.)

You can create as many calendars and diaries as you want, even if they all have the same start date, such as to distribute to friends or customers.  However, each calendar and diary must have its own file name, if it is on the same computer and directory with calendars you previously created.

Each calendar and diary has a light yellow space to write daily notes, and Mark appointment days, with a capacity of over 2000 words for each date.  However, when many words are entered, you must put the cruiser on the light yellow space, to see all of the text.  This can be done by left clicking on the yellow space with the mouse.  However, if you enter a relatively small amount of text in a yellow space, you will be able to see the words without doing the above.  Most of the diaries have larger spaces to write notes, than the calendars.  Thus, you can enter anywhere from 75 to over 200 words, depending on the page size, in the diaries, and the text will remain visible.  With most of the calendars you must place the cruiser on the yellow space, if you enter more than a few words.

Every time you enter text, in a calendar or diary, you must remember to save it, by clicking on the save button on the menu of Excel or OpenOffice, or by holding down the Ctrl key while pressing the S key.

If you want a calendar to open on the current month or a diary to open on the current day, go to the month in the calendar, or the day in a diary, and save it. When this is done, it will maintain the positional relationship, next time you open it.
